Our approach
Papillon aims to reduce the environmental impact of its operations while maintaining secure, accessible and reliable services. We apply a proportionate approach suited to a remote language-services business and consider environmental effects in operational and supplier decisions.
Priority actions
- Use secure digital workflows, electronic invoicing and digital delivery by default, printing only when required for accessibility, law or client need.
- Offer telephone and video interpreting where appropriate to reduce avoidable travel while preserving service quality and choice.
- Plan necessary journeys efficiently and favour lower-impact options where safe, practical and consistent with the assignment.
- Extend equipment life through secure maintenance, reuse and responsible recycling; minimise single-use consumables and packaging.
- Consider energy, hosting, waste, labour standards and environmental performance when selecting material suppliers and services.
Responsibilities and measurement
The Managing Director is accountable for the policy. Workers and suppliers are expected to avoid waste, follow client environmental requirements and suggest improvements. Papillon will develop proportionate measures for paper, travel, energy and material procurement rather than make unsupported environmental claims.
Continuous improvement
Environmental considerations are included in continuity planning and service design so that resilience measures do not create unnecessary waste. Progress, objectives and legal or contractual requirements are reviewed annually and after material operational change.
